Well-known for being the grungiest bar in the city. It's still very popular, although the air is full of smoke and you never know who's had their finger in your pint. Numerous Happy Hours keep the buyers coming in but be careful of those guys in the corner.
Known to be a little more innocent than its cousin The Phoenix Tail, The Rocking Horse does good business by serving those with more expensive taste. Still, its a good place to sit for a chat with friends if you don't mind the extra cost, and they do have flat screens.
Probably the most famous club on the NY scene right now. The music never stops, playing every dance classic under the sun. It's always packed, so don't lose your head in the heat. Guaranteed to give you a good night out, and a headache!
Traks is the newest club in the area, and its gaining fame fast. Each night there is a different theme; on one day you'll hear R&B blaring, the next it'll be Rock, or Techno, or Soul. If you know what you like, you'll like Traks.
Established years ago, The Basement remains the most popular Gentlemens' club in Manhattan. The girls know how to work it, and if you can pay up its the experience of a lifetime. If not, sit back, enjoy the show, and be sorry you're going home alone tonight.
They're reknowned for being pretty grotty, but if you don't need much space and you don't have much cash they're the best you're gonna get. They usually have 2-3 small rooms.
Spacious detatched properties, usually with two floors and 2+ bedrooms. The rent is high, but they offer comfortable living and room for entertaining guests.
Large, light loft apartments. Usually with 1-2 bedrooms and space to move around. Popular with students and artsy folk. Rent is lower than for a townhouse, but more than some can afford on their own.
One of the few patches in NY that is still green. A great meeting place, popular with school kids and adults alike. Benches are in abundance, but it's also pretty good for having a kick-around and there's plenty of wildlife.
Shopping in Manhattan might bleed you dry, but there are some bargains to be found if you don't mind not having the brands. Whether you prefer the cosy thrift stores or bright lights of the designer shops, there'll be something to suit.
The school that pretty much everyone goes to. It can be pretty rough, but as long as you're in with the right crowd, it'll be alright. For students aged 15-18.
